Vivoactive 4S Battery Drain

I recently purchased a Vivoactive 4S. For the first week and a half, the battery was doing great, lasting about 3 or 4 days. Then I got the Software update to 6.4. Since then my battery has been draining dramatically faster. Charged to 100 % last night, it was only 66% 6 hrs later.. The battery won't even last a whole day. I am not running the GPS. I do have the heart rate monitor on but it was on before the update as well and did not seem to be a problem. I am running a watch face I got in the Connect IQ store, but, again, I was running that before. Is there anything I can do to resolve this, or is it time to return the watch? I have had it less than two weeks. Very disappointed.

  • Hi!

I do have exactly the same issue. Not even24h ...

I have this watch from already 12months ... This is the first Time it happen ...

And this goes really with the new 6.4.

    Please help !

  • I’m sorry to hear of the battery drain issues that you’re experiencing.  Let’s start by power cycling (turning off and then back on) your watch.  If the battery drain persists and if you have any Connect IQ (CIQ) Content, especially watch faces, you may need to delete that content until the independent developer is able to update their app/watch face to function correctly (without causing a battery drain) with the new firmware version on your watch.  You can use any of the 3 FAQs below to uninstall the CIQ content.

How to Uninstall Connect IQ App Content Using the Connect IQ App

If you would like to submit feedback to the developer of the CIQ content, you can do so by clicking the link below and searching for the download page of the CIQ content.  In the bottom right corner of that page, you will find the option to contact the developer.

  • Thank you Kevin. I cycled the power yesterday and reset to the default settings. I deleted all the watch faces but one simple one and the watch did hold its charge well last night. Hopefully that will remain the case. Thank you for your response.

  • Similar issue with my Vivoactive 4, was getting 4 to 5 days on a charge but now only getting 2 to 3 days.  Issue started last update, SW 6.4.

  • Same problem. Updated 2 days ago with the latest software and the battery drains overnight. Power cycled multiple times, reset the watch to default settings, set the watch up manually without connecting to Garmin Connect, etc. and nothing stops the battery drain. Since I reset the Vivoactive 4 to its default settings, I'm no longer able to pair my watch with the Garmin Connect mobile app on top of the battery drain issue. Any suggestions are appreciated.
