  • Hello .  Please try the following:

    1. Sync the watch with Garmin Express
    2. Turn the heart rate sensor off
    3. Hard reset the watch. To perform a hard reset, press and hold the power button on your watch.  Ignore the "Power Off" question and the assistance alert (if applicable) on your watch, just continue holding the power button pressed down until the screen goes blank.  Once this occurs, you may release the button.  Allow the watch to sit powered off for a few seconds, then you may power it back on by pressing and releasing the power button.  When you power the watch back on and wear the watch, you should be able to peek underneath the back of it and see the green optical HR sensor lights flashing, though this may take a minute or two.
    4. Now, please perform a GPS Soak on the watch as well.  Do you have somewhere you can do a "GPS Soak"?  This would be somewhere like a back yard where there is a clear view of the sky and where it would not be at risk of someone walking by, seeing it, and taking it.  I'd like you to put the watch into "Run" mode and start to acquire a GPS signal.  Let it sit in that same spot for up to 20 minutes.  Even if it takes 5-10 minutes to connect during this time, it will have another 10-15 minutes to be stationary (since you aren't beginning a run) and "soak" up the GPS location data.  You may come back to the watch to find it is back at the time and date screen and that is fine.  That means that it acquired GPS signal, soaked, and timed out since you did not start the activity.  That is exactly what we are trying to accomplish.  If you come back to the watch in 20 minutes and find it still ready to start an activity and it has acquired a GPS signal, it is also ok to stop the soak process and return to the time and date screen using the back button.  After this process, go out on your next run like normal and see how the watch responds.
    5. If these steps do not resolve your issue(s), you can restore the watch to its factory default settings and try again.
    6. If this is also unsuccessful, I encourage you to reach out to the store/company where you purchased the watch for return/exchange options or you could contact your local Garmin Product Support Team to inquire on the warranty exchange process.
