I am experiencing skin rash and irritation in my hands from the vivoactive band, any ideas how to solve or overcome this issue.

I take it off every day when I shower, and wash the inside of the watch and band. That helps for me.
As many have indicated, washing the band will help. I replaced the band with a stainless steel loop one, like this.

I have also tried a nylon one and it was ok.

I ended up drilling some holes in the part of the band that does not have slots for the clasp. It's not a 100% fix but did lower the frequency of skin irritation as it allowed a bit of air to flow. I'd be careful as this probably does reduce the integrity of the band... but it's worked for me the past 1.5 years. Would be nice if the slotted clasp holes were carried through to the whole band to allow air flow and look nicer than what I did.
