vivoactive 4s freezes twice while hiking

My vivoactive 4s freezes twice during my trip to Vail, CO early this week. The first time was on Monday while I was hiking the Shrine Ridge Pass (elevation 11,102 ft at the trailhead with an elevation gain of 1,030 ft); the second time was Wednesday at the Booth Lake Trail (elevation 9187ft at the trailhead and elevation gain 3,051ft). For both hikes, it freezes at the same time 0:26 (see pic). By the time I finished the hikes, the battery was gone. After I recharge the battery, the watch runs okay. My watch had been reliable until these hikes. I wonder if the freeze has something to do with the altitude.

Pul, most likely it was caused by the issue in 6.10 firmware check this thread and you'll see that it could happen during the walk or run too where the altitude gains are minmum or non existent https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-4-series/269557/version-6-10---watch-freezes-on-activities

Also, your best bet to fix it is probably try the new firmware which Garmin has issued today they claim to fix the freeze issue.

Thanks. Glad to know I am not the only one who experience this problem. I just looked at Garmin connect. It says the software will be updated automatically. I hope it fixes the problem.
