I've been running the last two betas and was quite happy with the stability. With exception of the Pulse Ox setting automatically turning itself on in 6.02, the v6.05 fixed that and I was very happy with it.
I didn't have any rapid battery drain issues before, but noticed a slight improvement in standby time with the betas.
Now, after installing "stable" (garmin oxymoron) version 6.1 early yesterday morning , I've had to hard reset my watch four times already.
The backlight stayed on permanently after locking the screen while in HR widget, even after it automatically goes back to the watch face. That needed a reset too.
I've had to cancel and discard an activity, which then got stuck on the discard page for a very long time, and eventually go a failed to discard notice.
I've had one occurrence where the PulseOX widget would not show a progress bar, even after a minute of waiting... turns out the Red LEDs didn't light up at all. Had to reset the watch. It worked after that.
Connection to iOS Connect app (latest version) is also buggy and inconsistent. Twice the watch lost notifications and the live HR data in the Garmin app.
Today, I went for a walk, and somewhere in the first 500m, the watch froze. It didn't respond to touch or button presses. Needed hard reset. Lost the walk data from that.
This v6.1 also doesn't have the same battery efficiency as the Beta 6.05. While in an activity it chews through battery at a much faster rate. than before. Not entirely sure if standby battery consumption has deteriorated or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
If anything, this "stable" version has been the buggiest crap I've ever experienced from OS updates from Garmin, and I've run pretty much all Betas available on this forum. How can a beta V6.05 be perfectly fine, but then the final version 6.1 end up as complete junk?
