Payment for registration of new device!!!

Hi I've just purchased a VivoActive 4S and I've just been advised by garmin I need to pay to register the device, as I didn't purchase it direct.

I got it from www.very.com - I wasn't advised of this when purchased.

Can you please confirm this is legit, as I'm not convinced by the invoice they've sent me.

Also what benefits am I getting when I pay this fee? Thank you in advance

:( I went through the garmin website too - when they said they'd call me! Thank god I told him I'd call him back.
