Bug in Active calories burned after days of workout?

Hi,

I recently bought a vivoactive 4 to track my runs and walks. For the past 14 days, I have been averaging close to 1100 'Active' calories burned. Today, when I woke up and checked my watch it shows that I have burned 3692 'Active' calories for the day which makes no sense to me since I did not go on a run/walk in the morning or late last night which would have caused the 'Active' calories to be that high. As of writing this, I have only walked 1200 steps today, which should equate to 50-100 calories.

Another thing I would note is that my body battery shows as 5/100 which could probably be due to an intense workout yesterday. But, wouldn't this go back to the 50s after sleeping for 8 hours?

Could someone tell me why this is so, and if it is a bug, how do I fix this?

  • I would try to check your heart rate graph for the day as from what I see Garmin is basing it's calorie calculations based on your hearbeats, so if you had high pulse during the night that could explain why your active calories are so high.

It can be a bug, hardware issue or possibly an illness which causing increased HR, that's hard to tell especially without seeing your graphs and whenever there is something off.
