Lost data when charging

Tonight, my Vivoactive 4 was at 9654 steps and the battery died. I plugged it in to charge. When it came off the charger, it showed 7300 steps and all steps that I took between 4PM and 9PM were gone from the graph. Any suggestions on how to recoup my steps?

Thanks!

Hello! More than likely if the watch does not say 9654 steps, then we will not be able to correct them in Garmin Connect. You could try to sync via Garmin Express to see if it updates anything. Has this issue happened before?

  • It has happened before. The last time it happened, I had over 11,000 steps. My wristband had buzzed and the app was showing over 11K steps. I plugged it in as my battery died and the next day when it synced again, it had lost the steps.

I did have this happen once with my Vivofit 3. We had a steps competition at work. I lost about 7K steps. So at 10:30 at night, I was spite walking my neighborhood to get back my steps. Face palm

Note to self: charge band early in the day so I don’t lose steps.
