Have you tried new SW version 5.75?

I consider trying new version of SW and wonder if anyone tried it yet and whenever it affected your sleep tracking or battery performance?
Myself I never tried beta yet so thinking about doing it myself to find out.

  • I think trying Garmin's BETA versions is very risky. Somebody already mentioned it here before, that their betas are more like alpha versions and "stable" versions are still full of bugs more like beta version, so personally I wouldn't risk it.

  • Installed it.

"Fixed body battery summary showing +0 charge and -0 drain" - still shows +/-0 charge/drain in the body battery widget on the watch, so NOT fixed for me.

  • yeah, Jakub, I know it's risky, but my main idea was that it would sooner or later they would enforce you to use it anyway, and since I'm picky about things and keep on reporting different bugs in existing firmware, possibly it would make more sense and would be more productive if I install and contribute to beta testing, this way they I can possibly help to make it less buggy.

I just trying to asses possible damages before trying it Slight smile

  • thanks my body battery seems to be fine so far. When yours got broken, was it all the time even prior to beta versions?

  • Seems to be working now, guess the install was too fresh, or I don't know what happened. It should have read what I have in the app, but instead it read from when I installed the 5.75 beta.

  • Thanks ! I've took the risk too and so far it seems to work fine for me as well, I couldn't reproduce the issue with frozen main screen anymore, maybe it was fixed as well. And surprisingly my battery drain is lower than  usual so far, which is very promising, hopefully it's not some glitch, as if battery life was improved that's an exciting news.

  • I never had problem with body battery, but high power on gesture is back in this beta. And it is promising - no battery drain issue. 10% per 24 hours with smart functions. No activity, no spox. Nice.

Installed at my house since yesterday. Everything seems to be going well, except the sleep monitoring which, before the beta worked perfectly for me, but the bedtime was not correctly detected, and a big cut at around 4:15 am with no data, only light sleep (none REM, etc.) in short, I think there is really a problem generated by this version

  • Interesting, myself I had messy sleep detection before it so didn't felt any difference in that regard. And the battery life seems to be more or less the same. I have a feeling that once I charge my watch they don't calculate battery capacity properly and I can have 90% for several hours even recording activities and then discharge start to speed up rapidly.

Anyway today I was updated to 5.80. Let's see how it will performs.
