URGENT: BATTERY DRAIN

I already wrote my case in a previous publication, but this is getting urgent. I charged again my watch, and after 10h it only has 50% of battery. What does it mean? I've had the vívoactive 4 for only 2 months. Is it because the last update? I will return it if I can use it daily. I bought it because it promised a battery up to 8 days, and now it lasts less than 24 h.

  • Try turning it off and back on.

  • Thank you very much! It worked. Do you know why it happens?

  • Not sure why this happens, but I suspect a data field/app/watch face that you have installed goes crazy at one point or event (like fw upgrade for example) and that process needs to restart. And you can achieve this by restarting the watch. This is my guess, It happened to my right after the upgrade to fw 5.60. Went from 100% to 30-40% in a time frame similar to yours, so before charging it I restarted it and everything went back to normal battery-wise. What's curious is that it didn't happen to me after previous fw upgrades, so this seems to be something random.

  • It's the firmware and not a 3rd party app.  Things like this sometimes happen after a FW update.  Instead of a simple off/on, long press the upper button until the watch turns itself off (20 secs or so) and then back on.  That's a reboot.

  • What is the difference with turning it off for 45 sec that Garmin-AmberD is refering to?
