Spotify podcast sync fail

I have a Garmin Vivoactive 4s and I have managed to sync playlists to my watch but when I try to sync podcasts from Spotify it starts syncing and reaches between 1-90+% and then I get the message that the sync has failed.... I have tried to restart the watch but with no success. What should I do?

  • No problem! I sent you an email from Garmin!

  • Hey Isabella; I am having a similar issue on my FR 945. I am using spotify and have the playlists already on; however they will not update past '0%' and the it says 'sync failed'

My FR 945 is plugged in while doing this, and is connected to a separate 2 GHz router network we have in the house (it isn't used by anything else)

  • Hi,

I also experienced this issue. What helped for me was to remove the wifi connection from the watch and reconnect it. Simple but worked for me.

Also I sync with power connected.

  • Okay, same issue of being able to sync playlists but not podcasts? If so, can I have you verify that all software is up to date on the watch and Garmin Connect Mobile?

  • Hey Isabella, thanks for your help.

    Garmin Connect App version 4.9.0.43

    FR 945 software version 5.50 (e6bbb98).

My main issue is Spotify playlists; they're already present on my watch, but simply will not update with new songs as I add them to the playlist in Spotify app. It does not progress from the sync screen, past 0% before saying 'sync failed'. I have never tried podcasts so I can't speak to that...

    Thanks

    Ben

Okay, are you able to download a new playlist with ease? If not, is there any chance that the memory on the device is full?

  • Yes, i just downloaded a new playlist just fine. There appears to be plenty of memory available still.

  • Okay, just to make sure I am understanding right, you can sync a new playlist fine but when you go into your watch and select "Update Downloads" it will find the network, start syncing, and then say "Sync failed"? What happens if you delete that original playlist and redownload it with the new songs on it?
