Alarms in V5.10 ('alarms' vs 'reminders')

Here are some remarks about the alarms in Vivoactive 4, SW5.10.

  • There should be two types of alarms:
    • 'wake-up alarms' (as they are now) and
    • 'reminders' (missing at the moment).
      • A reminder could be 1, 2 or 3 beeps (vibrations),
without the need to acknowledge (turn off) the reminder.

Now, some features of 'alarms' that I have noticed,in software version 5.10:

  • an alarm cannot be turned off, if the screen is locked.
    This can cause problems
(try turning off an alarm from a locked device, while you are driving).
  • an alarm cannot be turned off, if the device is charging
(you have to unhook the device to turn the alarm off).
  • if the device is taken off (e.g. left on a table on its own),
    and an alarm goes off,
    the alarm will ring/vibrate forever.

Could these issues be addressed in future updates?

  • One more thing, if you postpone/cancel the alarm in 5.10, the backlight turns immediately off when you do it. This is very unpractical because when it is dark you can't check the text which tells you if the alarm was canceled or postponed. I suppose this is an unintended bug.
