Vivoactive 4 GPS

Hi, can I get some help? I bought a garmin Vivoactive 4 and from the beginning something is wrong with the GPS, running instead of showing that I'm running on the road it shows that I'm running through the bushes or on the crossroads, on the tracks and I'm going no route in total does not coincide with the real run, friends do not have this problem so I do not know what is caused by thisI've synced with garmin connect before running as well as garmin express, I've tried different GPS settings but it doesn't help either, I'm uploading some routes to see how it looks

connect.garmin.com/.../6040992049 Please see here, GPS went completely over the edge, nothing matches

Please help me or give me some advice

Greetings

  • yes the GPS always catches a fix, it lights up green then I run, yes I noticed when I set a point where I have to go back it directs me well but some 30-40 meters closer than the target point set + on the map tracks it always shows that I am running just 10-15 meters from the route I actually ran

Could I have you change your "Data Recording" to "Every Second" instead of "Smart" and see if this helps any? ( Menu > Settings > System > Data Recording > Every Second )

  • I already have these settings ;(

Okay, do you notice the same issue when you are not running trails in the trees? If so, do you have any activities you could link here for me to look at?

  • I have some old activities but this week I will definitely go for a walk in the woods so I will try to upload current activities by the end of the week

connect.garmin.com/.../6036471732 old activity but you can see that something is going wrong on the street

In regards to this one, this one does not show it, but did you start and stop at the same point?

  • Yes, when I do a walk I always start and end at the same point

Okay, it looks like it is incorrect at the beginning of this walk (Activity- 6036471732). Could we have you acquire the GPS signal and wait a few moments before you actually start the walk, to let the GPS soak more. As for the other activities, they were performed in the woods and this can cause a degraded GPS signal. This can happen from a range of environmental factors such as using GPS downtown in a major city to recording a trail run under a dense tree canopy. All of these can block the device's ability to directly receive GPS signal.

  • if I'm walking on the weekend, I'll wait for the fix and then I'll move on :) today I was running and I had a strange situation the first time it happened to me, namely the level above sea level +94m suddenly while running fell to -44 :D I do not know what it was caused by the first time such a thing happened to me, maybe the GPS got lost ?

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/6250282872  route as you can see also so moderately drawn, the lines are shortening the route and there are strange discrepancies (by the weather?)

    Height
    4 m
    Height increase
    158 m
    Drop in altitude
    -44 m
    Minimum height
    112 m
    Maximum height

This is strange, it is impossible
