To me, this is a strange one. The device pairs to my phone (iPhone XR running iOS 14.2) without any issues. In the Bluetooth settings on the phone the status says connected and remains that way unless I physically change it. So no issues there.
However, if I do not have the Garmin Connect App open on my phone, my VA 4’s status under the “Phone” menu says “waiting” constantly with the Bluetooth symbol always flashing. This is having a negative impact on the battery life. If the device is in this “waiting” status, I still receive notifications etc so it is clearly still paired to the phone.
I just need to know if this is normal or if there is an issue? I’ve had the VA 4 for less than a week now and so far the next charge I’ve got out of it is just about 48hours. At the moment, I have only used it as a watch with step/heart rate read outs and for notifications as I want to get this issue sorted before using it for fitness or music etc. I’m aware that I could simply just leave the Connect app open on my iPhone but I’m forever closing my apps down so that doesn’t always happen.
Any advice welcome.
