Swap wrists on Vivoactive 4s?

I initially set up my V4s on my right wrist, but I'd like to alter it to my left. I don't see this option anywhere in Garmin Connect user settings or profile, nor on the settings of the device itself. Any ideas?

Also, anyone know if this impacts the steps counted - or if it's just for using the wrist flick to turn on the watch face? Ie, if I tell the Garmin app that the watch is on my right, but it's actually on my left, will that mess up the data?

  • It's on the user profile, 2nd from the bottom.  At least that's where it is on my VA4 (which runs the same software as the 4s).

I'm 99% sure it ha no impact on the steps counted.

  • I found the setting on my desktop Garmin Connect under device settings, in the general tab.
I guess the algorithms trying to figure out what your doing (like walking) has different gyro expectations based on which wrist the watch is on.

Odd, it's not there for me. Using Android phone. But thanks!

This was the solution. Kinda crazy I have to log into the Garmin website to change this, but glad I know now. Thank you very much!

  • Open Garmin Connect app

    tap watch icon on top

    tap normal on bottom

I use an Andriod as well.

slide the side menu open and scroll to the bottom, tap the Garmin Devices option.

This should bring you to a window with your devices listed.  tap on the device you are using.

Now you have another image of your device with the word "connected" under it but a list of menu options is offered, scroll to the bottom on that menu and tap on the "general" option.

The Wrist Worn On option should be under the "Wrist Heart Rate" option.
