What is taking so long with the next update?

Hello , what is taking so long with the next update, please? When you posted ''a new update is coming soon'', i was expecting a few days, not weeks. My watch is still stuck at 5.10 with miserable GPS fixing and several other bugs that have been mentioned many times here in the forums. What is the status with the next update? I am planning to buy another watch if the problems aren't fixed soon, so I would like to know before Christmas if the waiting is worth it or not. Garmin's approach is really very dissapointing...

  • Thank you for your reply, at least we know something is going on. Fingers crossed with the new update!

  • Thank you for your reply.

Could you please, if it is possible, at least advance us two topics:

    1) Will we receive any new feature, like the better Sleep Widget similar to Fenix 6?

    2) Which feature has this terrible bug so difficult to fix?

Thank you for any further information.

    Best regards,

  • I wish I had a better answer for you. I know hearing "I will update you as soon as I can" gets old. I just do not have an update regarding what will be included in this update.

  • Hello! Every device we sell has been tested to ensure they meet all international SAR criteria. That applies to all protocols that each devices uses.

  • I understand.

Anyway, thank you very much for your effort and reply.

This itself shows Garmin is trying to make a better communication with customers than was done before.

    Regards

  • Really? Is it enough for you?! Not for me. Nothing saying answer from somebody, who presents himself as Garmin stuff (or something like this) once per month is not enough. I know this type of answers very well. It means in translation - "sorry, we are working hard, but not on your watch type, in fact we are fu*king you at this time and we don't know when we stop it." My customers always want to hear duedate of customisation release and also changelog in advance. And always get it. Sorry, there is no progress in communication from my point of view.

Now I'm using fw 5.21. It's much better then official 5.10, but there is still large space to improving in functionality and also UX. But when? Nobody knows Slight frown

  • You are not wrong.

    But business are business.

When we buy something is not the flagship, we have this risk.

    Look at Samsung and others.

  • Yes, it's not a flagship of Garmin. But the price is a flagship. And the software can not be stable after a year. Every update fixed so much bugs and there's more to be fixed.

  • Price of a flagship? It is costing something like 1/3 of the top Fenix watches, and almost 1/10 of the Marq watches...

  • Garmin should be absolutely embarrassed by their software situation. Making a relatively new watch nearly unusable for 4 months is unacceptable. I mean, this is almost class action territory. It reminds me of when Apple gimped their phones with 'updates' so people would buy the newer models. They know there are issues and there is no sense of urgency in correcting them.
