Issue report with VivoActive 4 on version 5.10 - Redmi AirDots 2 Bluetooth earphones does not work well - please consider adding a fix ASAP to the coming version

Hi,

I just bought a new VIvoActive 4 watch and I am very happy so far.

However I was very disappointed to find out today that the watch has a problem with BT earphones.
I bought new Redmi AirDots 2 BT earphones in order to connect them to my watch and be able to run and listen to music.

These earphones work great when connected to the TV, a tablet, and to several android phones, but when connected with the Garmin watch I can't control the volume from the watch and the earphones play music at the loudest volume possible.
This way the 4GB of ROM for the music / Spotify connection feature is useless, and I can't hear music on the run using my new watch and my new earphones.

In addition, I am unable to hear running audio instructions from the running Garmin Coach running program that I am registered to (if audio instructions are available using this feature (?))...

I will appreciate any help - if you can direct me on how to solve / bypass this issue, or if you can have this interoperability bug fixed on the close FW release.

I will appreciate it very much !

Again, the earphones are working great with all other audio sources that I tried so far - the only problem occurs only with the Garmin watch.

Please note that the phone was updated to the latest available FW using OTA FW update initiated from the watch's menu.

Waiting for your good news.

Thanks and regards,
-- Amit.

  • Can anyone comment on this issue?

  • Hello, I have this buds and Venu.

I don't have any issue this these earphones.

  • I have the same issue.

The old Redmi Airdots works well but the new one does not. I cannot control the volume at all.
It's at 100% alle the time. And that's loud.
I have a Garmin fenix 5 Plus Sapphire.

  • , I would not count on waiting for a fix.

I reported it 11 month ago, and it does not seem to be interesting to anyone at Garmin's development team. Disappointed

In addition, I don't remember the channel that I used - chat, email or pone, but when speaking with someone from the development team of Garmin, I was directed to buy earphones of different brand and if it will work - use them instead - if not - try to do it again.

Such an answer from a company like Garmin was the last thing that I could expect !!!

The good thing: In Israel, the official representative of Garmin gave me Sesh earphones free of charge in order to overcome this issue, and they works well.

However, Garmin must solve this issue in their Firmware.

Having this bug for such a long time and not solving (or intending to solve it) is inappropriate.
