Vivoactive 4 not recording Heart Rate, Stress and Sleep - Optical sensor light not flashing

In last week had major problems (coinciding with latest upgrade)

1. Battery usage suddenly increased - maybe lasts 10 hrs before needed recharge. I removed a couple of QiC apps and a custom watch face and it marginally improved.

2. More of concern - Watch no longer measuring and recording heart rate, stress levels and sleep.. And Optical Sensor light on back of watch has ceased working.

There may be multiple problems here ...The battery issue may be related to the upgrade to v5.1.0.. Many others are reporting similar issues.

Solutions? Reset to factory defaults? Upgrade to latest beta? Revert back to previous working version.

The problem with heart monitor - Have I turned something off (doesn't appear so, but I may have something) Or is something broken?

Would be thankful for any suggestions or comment .

I have exactly the same issue, factory reset didn't help. Looking for the instruction where to download previous firmware and how to downgrade.

Did you have the battery problem, as well as the problem of losing heart beat, stress and sleep monitoring, or did you just have the battery drain problem.

As you are the only person to respond to my post (which I appreciate), then it is probably time to contact Garmin Support. If I find out anything of interest I will post here.

I don't have any battery issue.

I need to charge the device two times more often than before, but I'm not sure it's a device problem but not my activity changes.

Hello! I apologize this has happened.

Plug the device into the computer and sync with Garmin Express
Once it's finished, unplug the device
Please reset the device to defaults
This will start the watch from new. Please go to watch settings, system then reset to defaults.

Could you please let me know if the lights comes back on and if the device is performing as it should.

Ok, if I do a complete reset as above, what happens to my step counts...I have backed up the Garmin Directory from the watch to a PC, and the watch is always synched to Connect. I assume that the history in the cloud on Connect does not get reset..but what about on the watch? And I guess I would have to reset up the watch from scratch if I reset .

Any hints on what has happened.

I did it, I also tried beta fiimaware 5.21 and restore back to 5.10 - nothing helps. Green light appears for a moment when I detach the device from the power cord, then watch doesn't light anymore.

Thank you for trying. The device should not be performing this way. Can you please contact your local Garmin support.

So how did you contact Garmin? By phone or messaging? Was it still under warranty or outside the one year?
