Congratulations Garmin

Hello gentlemen, my name is Mauro and I live in Italy. For the past few years (5/6 years) I have always used Fitbit. With my latest Fitbit Versa I had trouble getting my heart rate correctly. The Fitbit, despite so many precautions, gave me 40/45 heartbeats less than the chest strap and the manual count. I had pre-ordered the Fitbit Sense but on the day of shipment I read about errors in reading heartbeats on many online sites. I canceled the order and ordered the excellent Garmin vivoactive 4 (45mm). It is a new experience: it is like going from a small car to a much more luxurious and comfortable car. The menus are very complex ... but very complete. How long has the vivoactive 4 been on the market? how long will the smartwatch be supported by the company?

  • I can tell you that my VA3 is still completely supported. Even my Forerunner 910XT which has been replaced many times over with new models isn't an orphan.

  • today I would like to explain why I am so satisfied. i charged the va4 battery on monday. before taking it out of the charger I made all the adjustments and updates. i set the pulse ox to work while sleeping. I installed a low consumption watch face. I turned up the brightness a lot I am almost 59 years old and the brightness is fundamental for me. the va4 on days without important training is discharged by exactly 20% per day. with 30min workouts (and GPS) on that day it discharges by about 25%. I love a reliable instrument in reading the heartbeat but also reliable in discharging the battery ...

  • Thanks pshare :):)

  • After 2 weeks I would like to give a further opinion of my VA4. In my VA4 the pulse oximeter (so I leave it off pending firmware correction) gives me incorrect readings and the Elevate heart rate monitor is not very detailed. For my workouts I prefer to combine a strap Polar Bluetooth and ANT + heart rate monitor. With this combination it's great and the battery life is just fantastic. Currently, after 100 hours, I still have 67% battery with 2 short workouts and GPS. Obviously I deactivated the pulse OX and during sports the heart rate monitor is in the heart rate belt ... But everything else is just perfect. If I have a regret .... I only regret not having purchased the Forerunner 945.

  • It is great to hear that you are enjoying the Garmin vivoactive 4! Thank you for sharing!
