[Checked] GSC 10 Sensor Compatible with VA4

Hi, in case anyone has a doubt as to whether the GSC 10 sensor is compatible with the VA4, the answer is yes, or at least in my case haha.
The GSC 10 is Garmin's old bike speed and cadence sensor, now being replaced by the separately acting cadence and speed sensor.
The advantage of the GSC 10 is that it can be used on stationary bicycles that have an inertia flywheel, unlike the new speed sensor that can only be installed on the spokes of the bicycle wheel.
I suppose that by having the pedaling cadence and speed metrics, the calculation of calories consumed in the activity can be a little more precise and new metrics are always appreciated.

Regards.

  • Was there a reason you presumed it wouldn't work?

The new speed sensor fits to the wheel hub, not the spokes. Also, it an be mounted on the flywheel, with a little double sided tape. The closer to the wheel centre the better.
