Garmin, plz stop disappointing your customers!

When I read that Garmin bought first beat, there was a chance that Garmin would upgrade our smartwatches with better first beat analytics, eg. Training effect, rest time etc.

Today I read, that Garmin instead prefers to sell new watches like the forerunner 45 plus which has that first beat features.

I am really disappointed by Garmin. Bugs never get fixed.
My watch can’t reconnect automatically to my iPhone.

Smart functions like weather forecast don’t get updated automatically without having to start connect and manually sync the watch.

All in all, the whole features of the Vivoactive 4 are nearly nothing because they don’t work and for the prices you nearly get an Apple Watch.

At least I had the feeling, that Garmin was a save place for my data, but even with that we got dissappointed and Garmin didn’t at least fully communicate what happened with that ransomware.

And instead of updating our watches with new features, Garmin wants us to buy new ones... by

come on Garmin. Your existing customers DO count a lot. We are the ones who either recommend your smartwatches or not. At that point I can’t recommend Garmin anymore.

it's not about apps. It's about the firstbeat algorithm integration in VA series. That's the point. VA is not for running but neither it's useful as smartwatch. Forerunner is for running but includes typical smartwatch features.

We have been suffering all the bugs regarding GPS signal, battery drain and more. Waiting patiently the resolution of the servers hacks. Supportive with Garmin during all the bad times...but everything has an end. I feel a traition from Garmin because they are not giving back a minimum consideration to VA4 costumers. I cannot recommend Garmin to friends or family. It would as easy as implement firstbeat into VA4, just to compensate being an experiment for them.

Me too. It's really annoying being treated in this way. All the problems and none of the upgrades. VA4 users are the experiment of Garmin. I cannot give it back and get a refund but if i could, i would do and go to polar, huawei...and get what you expect for what you pay.

Following your argument, I have another smartwatch or sportwatch, no matter how you want to call them, for 130 € and with more statistics than VA4. A

Are we buying the Audi of the sportwatches and we can't complaint a bit about the problems and lack of information we found?? Maybe it's time to buy a Ford with more information and a lower price.

How are we going to send a claim to the technical service for the lack of statistics?? Is that a technical problem?? No, it's just a customer complaint and were using forum to inform another customers about what they are going to find and avoid ugly surprises like ours.

Another point I've forgot to mention is the Garmin pay...it's a completely joke. I have three bank accounts and no one was accepted by Garmin pay and all of them are working with Samsung pay. Of course this should be also my problem because I'm living in Europe and not in USA...

Of course, VA4 is great device but has a lot of things to be improve and that's what we're looking for.

  • Reading this forum, you get the impression that nothing is working on the VA4, because people only come here to report issues. I think the watch is working just fine for most people. I know a couple of other VA4 owners, and we don't any serious issues with it. Sleep tracking, battery drain, syncing, Garmin Pay, GPS, heart rate, VO2max and step count are all working.

If it would be True and there are only a few people with issues with their watches, this would mean, that quality control is really bad.

Anyway, I can’t imagine that. In fact I am pretty sure, that there are many people who have already given back or sold their device to get a different brand. These people would never come back here to tell us, that they are happier with the new one.

As you can see in other posts about issues, there aren’t people who say, hey must be your single watch, because with mine, everything is working.

I think we have to face the truth. Garmin sold us really bad quality and doesn’t even consider to make us existing customers happy and instead advertising for new customers.

  • I had three VA4 and each had problem: 1. problem with compass -> immediately changed, 2. wrong sleep tracking, wrong floor detection, problem with custom workouts and finally after 7 months problem with battery -> changed, 3. tested only 2 days and wrong sleep tracking. VA4 with issue:without issue 3:0. I would like to see VA4 without issue.

The problem is that the VA/Venu cost near 400 euros and a f6 basic costs 550 euros....
