Bluetooth kicking in and out on Vivoactive 4

This has been a recent development in the last month or so.  I have tried three different sets of bluetooth headphones and it happens on all three.  If i go for a run, the music will periodically crackle or just kick out for a split second.  And it does it randomly.  I could go a minute jogging and then it happens a few times in 20 seconds.  I have also noticed it happens more when I run.  If I walk, it happens way less frequently and if I am sitting at my desk, the music has no issues.  I have restarted the watch and that did not work.  Next step might be to just reboot the watch.  But the fact it happens with more frequency as I move my arms faster makes me think it is a hardware issue as opposed to a software issue.

Any suggestions?

  • Well... this is not really a great solution but it seems to me the easiest fix is to listen to the music from the phone, not the watch. I guess maybe you want to be able to run without bringing the phone.

Yeah, one reason I got the watch was to not have to bring the phone with me.  The ability to store songs on the watch was what made it attractive compared to other watches.  I factory reset the watch this morning and will re-load some songs onto it later today and try it again.  If it still doesn't work right, I'll contact Garmin and see what they can do for me.
