Searching for headphones automatically turned on

I noticed when I use my headphones with the watch that after disconnecting them, the watch keeps on searching for the headphones in the background.

I have to manually go into the settings and turn it off to save battery EVERY TIME.

It would be great if it would either turn off automatically after usage or if there would be a way to turn it off with a shortcut (like for the phone connection)

You can't switch off bluetooth on this device...

It’s possible to turn off the connection to the phone and the searching for headphones. But the second option is a little more hidden in the settings. So I would say yes, it is possible but not straight forward.

Is this what is killing my battery??  I've noticed severe battery drain after trying the music feature on my VA4 (which didn't go so hot mind you), and connecting some BT headphones.  It's been over a month since I tried that.  I've long ago deleted the music and disconnected the services, but I just went into sensors and found that the watch is in 'search' mode for both my headphones and my hr strap I wear when I play beach volleyball (pre-pandemic).  I turned them both off, lets see if battery life goes back to normal-ish.  For reference, I went to bed last night and I think it was at about 28%.  I just started my day and I'm at 9.
