vivoactive 4 Series SW 4.90 is now live

This update can be downloaded with Garmin Express or automatically with Garmin Connect Mobile (pending rollout). 

Change Log:

  • Improved WIFI connectivity and status messages
  • Fixed an issue with iOS messages repeatedly being displayed
  • Made improvements to broadcasting heart rate
  • Fixed an issue to ensure GPS firmware updates are downloaded
  • Fixed an issue where Connect IQ data fields could impact battery life
  • Fixed an issue where Connect IQ watch faces could impact battery life
  • Fixed an issue where pages are not displayed for the last golf widget
  • Made general improvements to stability

    Sometimes random bluetooth disconnect is weird and annoying, yet this is what work for me with my Android-based phone.

    0. Unpair device. Disable pairing via phone using Bluetooth menu and remove device in Connect app. 

    1. Clear Bluetooth Cache on phone. Go to Settings -> Apps -> All apps -> Search for Bluetooth -> Select and clear cache/data 

    2. Disable power saving control for Connect and Connect IQ. Launch Security app -> Battery -> Activity control -> search for Connect and Connect IQ and select option to disable battery management for each.

    3. Restart Garmin VA4

    4. Restart Your Phone.

    5. Launch Connect app -> add your device -> setup everything you need.

    6. In case you are annoyed by phone connected/disconnected notification go to Settings -> Phone -> disaable toggle for 'Connected Alerts' on you watch.

    So far so good, connection drops very rarely. Sometimes when I force-clear my phone's ram.

    P.S. Overall bluetooth module feels unstable as it drops connection due to distance being too far from my phone in my apartment which was not the case with almost all other bluetooth-related devices.

    Unfortunately, as you can see here, the German lettering is still cut off

    Seems heart rate ant+ broadcast is finally stable, and at least continues to broadcast for over an hour now. Thanks.

    This already exists in the watch from the System/Backlight option from the watch.

    My main issue regarding battery drain with 3rd party data fields seems to be solved. THX for that!

    Hello, when You upload to firstbeat function as traning status, regeneration time and other? Vivoactive is good watch, but these function missing :-((( I´m very sad.And Today very bad gpx record :-/

    My wife's Vivoactive4 stopped syncing "power minutes" after 4.90. Anyone with similar problem?
