Vivoactive 4 not recognised by Apple Mac.

Hi, first time poster. When I plug my Vivoactive 4 in to my Apple Mac, the computer does not recognise my watch. It previously recognised my other Garmin watches, where it would pop up on the desktop when I plugged it in but not the Vivoactive 4. I have the current software for Apple Mac and also Garmin Express. Garmin Support have no clue and Apple Support only suggestion was to update software which I did.  The watch is recognised by the Garmin Express App but there is no way I can “eject” the device as the computer is not recognising it. 
I have checked all my privacy and firewall settings but no result.  I can’t understand how it worked for the other watches but not this one. 
Also, after the watch is charged and I unplug it the time changes on the watch to the incorrect time. 
Anyone else have this issue? Thanks for your time and assistance if possible.
