    1. Reset watch from system settings (choose "save activities" if you like)
    2. Restart the watch.
    3. Set up on watch screen.
    4. Connect to Garmin Express, using usb.
    5. Sync your watch in Garmin Express

Keep using Garmin express to sync data from your watch through usb.

Both bluetooth, wi-fi and GPS goes haywire when the device is  directly associated with a specific phone.

You still get all information in the garmin connect app, but without giving up all your privacy options.

  • Step 1-3 definitely did the job for me a week ago.

    Plus:

Don't install third party apps/data fields from Garmin IQ Shop.

These can trigger high battery drain.

Hi. I have the same problem. Reseting the watch will fix it, but only for few days, the problem will come again. I dont like the solition mentioned above to sync the watch only witg Garmin Express. I havent bought a 300 USD watch for using a snycing it like a stupid watch. Gamin has to fix it asap. its a common problem I see in the forum.

  • Yes. My battery drained from 82% to 10% in one night directly after the update to 4.70. Since then, I have to recharge my watch every other day, while a few month ago on version 4.00 (when I bought this watch) I could go almost a full week before I had to recharge.

I'm having the same issue. 100% to 0% in 9 hours.

    Its not good enough.

I used to go 4 or 5 days between charge and now I cant even get a full days wear from it

I can attest that it also happens with Garmin express. After a week from hard reset, battery use goes up. It's the watch...

  • I also experienced a high drain a few days ago after updating. Now it is back to 25% to 30% a day, with pulse oxy on, an IQ watchface etc
