Anybody at Garmin

Since the latest update the battery is lasting hours not days as claimed.

Can anyone explain if anything is being done please?

Thank you

Can I second this. Version 4.70 on a Saga limited edition. Getting less than 24 hours despite resets and no changes to my set up which used to average 5 days.

The only way I avoid battery drain (and erratic bluetooth behaviour) Is to sync and manage your watch from the Garmin Express Pc software. I also never use the Iq store...

  • Same here. I have to charge my watch everyday now. Started last week after a software update.

  • I have the normal 45mm VA4 and have 8-10 days battery life, which seems to be better than before 4.70. Have some notifications on and 24h HR.

    Anybody at Garmin!

Same issue! New watch, one week out the box! After the update to 4.70 it drained 70 % of my battery in 8 hrs!

This is unacceptable. Feel like being cheated foe spending money on this device!

  • I think the actual battery percentage is wrong after the update. I let my watch charge longer even when it says 100%. That got me up to 3 days which is my normal usage with my configuration.

    Hi Kevin

Battery procentage was right, as my watch jist turned off after last battery read I've seen was 2%.

I also left last time the watch on charger for ~ 4 hrs after it was charged to 100%, so dont think this is a solution. Then it was running for 3 days.

After the update yesturday, the battery drain got crazy.

  • I hear you. I was just happy to get my watch back to 3 days but I just realized I had not used the activity tracker yet so it may be one day.  I will see in the morning.

I just hope an update fixes this soon.

Overall though, having come from the horrible Fitbit Ionic, I still prefer the Garmin.

I am having the same battery drain issue. New watch, less than a week old. Battery lasts <24 hrs. No gps, no music, brightness very low, no custom watch face, no extra apps.
