walking shown as hiking

I have walked f about 12 km. I don't see it on my connect app as walking. Garmin calls it hiking. So it isn't visible in my survey. How to solve this problem? I always want to see my walking actvities. I do not hike! When I change the activity in walking, it didn't solve the problem. Hiking I can' t see in my survey.

When I do a walk, Garmin connect and Strava both call it a walk, not a hike. I have a 4S and the latest firmware. I do not know why yours is behaving differently.

Are you using a 3rd party app to record it? My hiking app will record as either a walk of a hike for example.

I don't use another party. Only the result synchronise with "my fitness pall. Fitness pall says : walking

I have the same issue. The Garmin app calls it walking. The Garmin device (my watch, a Forerunner 705) calls it Hiking. The watch is up to date. The watch has no notion of Walking. How come the Garmin hardware and Garmin app use different terminology? It renders the walking part of the app useless. Is there a fix?
