Can I use phone alarm or timer to also trigger on my watch?

i had been using vivoactive 4 for couples of weeks and really enjoying it. One thing that bugged me is I could not find a way to have my phone alarm set off on the watch.
I know that I can set the alarm in connect app. But it would a lot easier to do in iphone clock, right?

One more thing is when I set an alarm in connect app there are no repeat weekly weekend options like the one in watch, instead I have to pick it day by day

On Android, you can set the alarm clock app to send notifications, and those will show on the watch. I forget the exact steps, as it's been a while since I had that.

Sleep as Android is the app you need (for Android phones), it pushes alarms as notifications so you can stop an alarm from your watch. DO NOT give the app permission to appear on top as that way it will not use notifications and thus will not appear on your Garmin watch.

This seems like a complete waste of time and effort because the phone MUST be within BlueTooth range (15-25 ft) for notifications to work. If you have to have the phone that close, you might as well just pickup the phone or walk 20 steps and look at the phone.

A watch is not a smart watch if it must be tethered to the phone to function.
