VA 4S GPS drifting far off

I just bought a new Vivoactive 4S. My previous Vivoactive HR is very accurate regarding GPS, and locates me onto the correct sidewalk. On a walk with the new 4S today, the position drifted off around 200 meters to south east most of my activity, logging with GPS+Glonass. Tried a new walk with only GPS, and got same result. With GPS+Galileo it records the correct position.

I am guessing there is something wrong in the downloaded satellite data for one of the most visible GPS satellites.

Strava log for reference with picture where I drew the actual route I walked in green/yellow:

Edit: I also want to add that the area is flat, buildings are mostly flat, and there are very few trees. Sky was sunny. Should be good GPS conditions.

  • I've seen a lot of drift on the regular Vivoactive 4 too, however not that much! For me cycling seems pretty accurate so hopefully it's a software issue that can be fixed

  • How many buildings? How close together?  Is this a city area or suburban area?

I've found that, when I try to use ANY GPS in downtown Chicago (near where I live) the GPS has problems. I'm told it's because the GPS signals are bouncing off buildings.

  • It is a Norwegian village with buildings being quite low and far apart. One of the places the position was around 200 meters offset to south east, I walk along a river with hardly any building within sight.
