I can't find an option to turn off the GPS (to save battery)

I just bought a Vivoactive 4s and I want to turn turn the GPS off (assuming it is on, which maybe it isn't), but the manual says to find it under settings -> Activities and Apps -> GPS, but it isn't there. Navigate IS there, but there is no apparent option to turn it off. Under Navigate, there are a few options, but under GPS it just says GPS + GLONASS. And there are choices there, but not to turn it off.

Obviously this watch is more complicated than my fitbit, and maybe I am missing something.

  • GPS is only on when you start an activity that uses it and turns off GPS when you save/discard the activity.

For navigate, it's always on, so it can see where you are.

  • Any indoor activity such as treadmill running, Floor climb, or indoor walking won't use the GPS. If you prefer not to have the GPS on for an outdoor activity, use the indoor version of it and simply change it to an outdoor type after syncing. I've done that in the past when I didn't want the GPS to drain the battery.

    Thanks. That makes sense now.
