VA4 UX error: incoming call notification is unreasonably short (unexpected behavior).

We get only two vibes during the time our connected phone rings.

The expected behavior is to get the continuous signalization while the phone rings.

Current behavior breaks an axiom: the device must "ring" while a caller's getting long beeps, so it's indeed a bug, and the watch doesn't help to control the phone in a noizy, or contrarily a quiet place. Unfortunately, when I asked the local support, they opened and instantly closed the ticket with the "by design" resolution.

Many users (some links below) are patiently waiting for the fix. It might be a setting to switch (in case someone likes the current behavior).

  • Agreed!  The current "behaviour" is not acceptable.  The device should vibrate until the call is either answered or dismissed or the "ringing" stops due to the call hanging up or being pushed to voicemail.  At the very least, give user setting options to have full response or shortened response ("current behaviour").  And, I also agree with other comments posted here...Garmin doesn't seem to review these comments or their "ideas" submission page - nothing changes.  They believe they know better than their users.  Disappointed

  • what do you think about this bug or "feature" ? Is any chance that Garmin give users possibility change duration of vibration for incoming calls in this model?

    Thanks

  • I just purchased a garmin fenix 6 and I’m astonished by this. So this watch is able to track the different stages of my sleep but is not able to keep beeping until y respond a call? Seriously? Completelly unacceptable for a company like Garmin to not be able to give their users this basic functionality based on the cost of the device.

  • That's the reason I sold mine immediately, if a company like Garmin gets so many complaints about this and they refuse to do anything about it I don't want to be a user anymore of any of there products. There are enough other watches even much cheaper witch this function and many more. I even sold my GPS and bought me a Tom-tom

  • Yes, there needs to be an option to allow vibrations to continue until the user hits a button to silence the vibration or answers the call. If it uses more battery so be it. The main reason I got the watch was to have something that would notify me of incoming calls in situations where I could not have the ringer in my phone turned on.

  • This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. There is no phone on the planet that does not continue to ring/vibrate until the phone is answered (or goes to voicemail, etc). I have NEVER heard of such a thing.  I don't know how they could still be in business with such a shortcoming.  Could you imagine your home phone ringing for 1 second and then that was it?  COME ON GARMIN, fix the DAMNED watch and give the option to continue vibrating until answered.
