  • I changed my Vivoactive 3 Music to Vivoactive 4 and think I have a really bad Battery Life compared with the promised up to 7 days.
How is you Batterylife on the newest firmware and do you use android or iOS?

since there are Bluetooth Problems on ios13 it could possibly be the reason.

  •  Vivoactive 4 firmware 3.8 - 7d, firmware  4 and above - 5d Disappointed

    settings and usage the same

  • como?

Por favor esplicate un poco mejor , me gustaría entenderte bien

  • I've had va4 for more than 5 months and on every software version it's not more than 3 days if I record an activity and if I don't then 4 days. I bought from a retailer "coolblue" in Netherlands and more than 80% of user reviews mention the same. So I am assuming the quality control at Garmin must be terrible coz not everyone has this problem around the world but also so many people do.

  •  On 4.0 I tested my battery life a couple of weeks - I mostly didn't use GPS, had only a 1-3 short activities during the cycle, used non animated watchface, and kept all recommendations for good battery life. The battery did last somewhere between 6 to 7 days and I didn't reach 0 %. After 4.5 update the battery drain is rather unstable - it starts draining very slowly - like 5% a day, but next day it is up to 20% (no activities, the same usage). Then it stabilizes a bit and drains some 15-18% a day. It lasts maybe 5-6 days. The problem is that after a GPS activity like running (which does not drain too much - some 5-6% per hour), it starts draining much more during a standard usage (like 1% per hour and more). I have to switch the watch off and on and sometimes even this does not help immediately (another restart usually helps to get back to 0.7% per hour which is still rather high).

Does anyone have the same experience - increased battery drainage after finishing a GPS activity?

  • En estos momentos de covid-19 no utilizo el GPS , pero hace 4 dias la carga cayo del 45% al 15 en un dia y sin hacer ninguna actividad, simplemente en casa

  • Battery life on my Vivoactive 4 including the latest firmware has always been really good. I don’t use the WiFi but everything else is switched on all the time. Typical use is 7 or 8 days with notifications, checking pulse ox twice a day manually and 3 x 1.5 hours of running activity using GPS. Backlight set to 10% and watchface in use is Ranger. Last charged Tuesday last week - now Monday currently at 18% so will charge tomorrow or Wednesday. Very pleased with VA4 so far after 3 months owning.

That’s a really good battery life. I wonder why there are so many bad reports...

  • Pues que suerte.

nunca he llegado al quinto dia , y no encuentro la forma de que lo haga , y sigo todas vuestras recomendaciones

  • If that's true, you must be very lucky obtaining an extremely good specimen of the watches. Garmin claims up to 18 hours in GPS mode, so at best it should consume 5-6% an hour during GPS activity. Your 4.5 hours of running should consume at least 22% of batery in total. That in addition to standard usage of the watches.

Seems Garmin batteries have a rather wide range of capacities in real life. But yours surely must be an outlier on the positive side.
