How do I change the orientation of the watchface for left handed?

I'm left handed so wear the watch on my right wrist. I'd like the buttons to be closest to my wrist, not my elbow. I thought setting the wrist placement as 'right' would do this automatically?

  • Switching the side for the button was available on the va3, but it's not with the va4.

Thanks for confirming. That's disappointing, but I can live with it. I've since discovered it's due to there being a compass in the va4

  • That was one of the issues with the va3.  When you switched the button to the other side, the compass was off by 180 degrees.  Usually re-calibrating fixed it, but still a pain.

  • That Garmin cannot manage left hand or right handedness is on their $450 Viviactive 4 is just plain DUMB, especially after it was offered on the Vivoactive 3!

C'MON MAN! Do I have to remind the Garmin Product Managers & engineers that 10 -12 % of the world'spopulation is left handed.

A coule of days ago I sent a suggested work around to garmin.com/ideas. I wish that I had a copy of it so I could post it here. I would be OK if the buttons were reversed, but I cannot live with an upside down screen & a compass that is always out by 180 degrees.

That this watch does not work for lefties is UNACCEPTABLE. I expect a firmware fix on this otherwise AMAZING watch. Do I need to start trolling Garmin to get this fixed? To start tonight with I am going to make sure that every reviewer and YouTube poster knows that this watch is not suitable for left handed people.

    Get this fixed please.

  • I'm a lefty and it works just fine on my right wrist.

Every now and then, depending on what I'm doing I'll wear it on my left wrist. No big deal.

I don't expect the World to change for 10-12% of the population. I;ve managed to use machines designed for right handed operation and did not whine about it - just learned to deal with it.

  • I’m also a lefty wearing watch on right wrist. I agree with 4411990. Watch faces and buttons have never been a problem.
