Heart Rate Accuracy - Biking

Hi there Community,

I just wanted to ask how accurate is VA 4 on wrist while driving a bike. For me is really important because my health status, I really should not go so high with rates and I think I will not be able to buy strap and watch from once, and I really like VA4.

Can I count on readings from wrist when driving a bike?

thanks,

Best regards

  • Heart rate in va4 is quite inaccurate and seems to vary from activity to activity and even some firmware updates have affected that. So if it's really important for your health buy a cheaper Garmin watch and heart strap. This watch seems like a good option with the list of features but most of them are half baked and some of them don't even work as advertised. A lot of false advertising.

  • ohh.. that sounds not so good.

I was wondering between forerunner 735XT ( deal ) and VA 4, but I could not find good site to compare this two.

  • I would suggest getting a heart rate strap, which is much more accurate than an optical heart rate monitor.

  • I thought to buy it as a bundle, but I could not afford it to buy VA 4 with strap at once.

I could one month take watch and the next strap or to take forerunner 735xt as bundle at once.

I am not sure what is better :/  what is difference between VA 4 and 735xt :(

Optical heart rate sensor on Garmin vivoactive 4 is a joke, do not rely on it at all. Apple watch 5 and fitbit versa 2 ae way more accurate
