Daily totals missing

Hey. Has anyone had something smilar:

Had a nice jog for an hour, 9km.

Calories burned 550cal etc. Don't know how many steps. But when I stopped the activity and pressed save the watch restarted. After syncing with Phone the activity appears in garmin connect but now Calories or steps during the activity has not been taken into account into Daily totals.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Watch: vivoactive 4S

SW: 4.0

GPS: 2.8

  • Hi,

Yep, I have seen the same thing.  It has happened twice to me. I posted about this a few weeks ago with no replies.

Since then I have reset my watch to "factory" standard - I removed all added faces, widgets, etc. in case they were the cause. Plus a forced restart (hold top button 12+ seconds) in case they had left anything behind.

One thing I thought may have had an influence was I had auto lock watch during activity. I was pausing long enough between stopping the activity and ok'ing the save activity that I had to unlock it again to do the save after which it reset. I also switched GPS back from every second to smart as that was what it was originally.

So far, no more watch restarts on stopping/saving an activity. I have added back the Titanium clock face as not having a second hand saves about a day of battery life - still no problems.

Watch: Vivoactive 4, SW: 4.0, GPS: 2.9 (now, been using 2.8 for last two weeks - no restarts with it)

    Cheers

  • I have the same problem. Any ideas other than a completed reset?

  • I had that happen about 6 months ago. I was just completing a run when i looked down to see a Garmin triangle on the watch. Basically, the watch crashed and when it restarted, steps, etc. reset themselves to 0.Fortunately, it hasn't happened again.

Until recently, my CIQ watch face would crash as often as 1 time per day. Restarting the watch would fix it. Last week, I updated 2 CIQ data fields on my watch through express and the watch face hasn't crashed since.
