Question regarding calories burned on different modes

I've just replaced my Fitbit Inspire HR with a Vivoactive 4. Exercise wise, I only do weights and exercise bike. The latter seems simple, but I have a query regarding logging weights.

I've read that the auto set and rep function isn't that great, so I'm happy to avoid those. I've also read that some people suggest using the cardio mode or copying the cardio mode and renaming it Gym or whatever.

Is there a difference in how calories are calculated between the cardio and strength mode? It appears if I were to use the strength mode, I could just use the set start and stop to track my workout. Would leaving the reps and weight at 0 mess with the calorie calculation or is that just for logging your progress? I use the Strong app for that, so I don't want to use that feature on the watch.

Just use weightlifting and ignore the set function. If i dont want to log every set on my 245 i just switch to the hr datafield and train.

It has no effect on the calorie count.
