Ability to log Football, Tennis and Basketball

Currently I'm using the Cardio activity to log football, tennis and basketball. This is not ideal since this won't record steps, distance, etc. Tried to also use Indoor Running but the distance shown was way off.

It would be great if you could include these activities as pre-defined.

  • distance shown was way off.

On wearable devices the distance will always be off for activities that are indoors and have frequent rapid changes of speed and direction, no matter if there's a dedicated profile for it or not.

  • I used to use Fitbit and it could record those activities quite well, albeit not quite good when running.

Any idea how/if cardio mode can be made to record steps for that exercise?

I can change the exercise later to be Football/Tennis/Basketball later once it is sync'd - but only Tennis is available in the dropdown list. Garmin should at the very least add Football and Basketball to the list.

  • I used indoor running activity on my old FR235 and it recorded football perfectly. Now switched to Vivoactive 4 and covered distance and step count during the same time of playing is 1/3 of what FR235 recorded. It seams that Vivoactive is less sensitive and doesn't record every small step. I don't know if this is a bug or matter of different hardware. Do you have maybe experience with FR245 how it handle with step counting? I just would like to know if this is Vivoactive 4 issue or all new devices have the same problem.
