Vivoactive 4 unpredictable and unreliable battery life

exchange it, because my battery can last 7 days with hr on, spo2 off and no excersize done.

No issues here, I get around 5 days of use with gps trainings and normal day to day usage. Definitely something wrong with your unit.

One thing to try that often helps, is after a FW upgrade (or if things just seem funky), reboot the watch.

It's simple and you don't lose any data.  On the va4, press and hold the upper right button until the watch turns itself off (maybe 20 seconds) and then turn it back on.

For battery issues, then plug it it and fully charge it (and keep it charging a while after 100%), as this seems to help re-calibrate the battery usage.

Also no problems so far, 7 days, normal usage, HR on, no exercises, spo2 off. Maybe it's related to a 3rd party displaydesign your case

CIQ watchfaces are very limited in what they can do/how often they update to have minimal impact on the battery.

Hi, I updated to 3.60 4 days ago, and battery only lost around 35 %, without using gps. Maybe it could be wifi issue?

Thanks everyone, but i exchanged my watch and i have similar problems with this one, but i noticed when my battery drain happens and how i can control it. I found that normally without anything the battery is draining about 1% per 90-100mins. But if i am working out then it drains about 1% per 30 mins. This run off doesnt stop even when i have stopped working out for hours, unless i restart my watch. After restarting it goes back to 1% per 90-100 mins. This seems like a software issue which Garmin should be able to resolve with software updates. 

I hope they can fix that soon. But i will stick to this one for sometime and see how the battery improves or gets used to my schedule over time.

You haven't mentioned what watch face you are using.  For one full charge/discharge use one of the built-in Garmin faces that do not have the seconds showing.  That should give you a baseline of how the watch performs.

I am using the default watch face out of the box. Nonetheless, garmin doesnt give me a warning saying dont use seconds in your watchface or your battery will drain twice as fast, so i would assume that is not the problem. I also cant imagine seconds watchface is draining my battery in 3 days instead of 8.
