Volume control not working with headphones

I have bought some JBL Reflect Flow headphones. When I pair with my Vivoactive 4, the volume control does not work. Furthermore, the default volume is max which I am unable to change due to volume control not working. Headphones are unusable.

I have tried separately to pair with Bose QC35 II and volume control works fine.

PURCHASED VIVOACTIVE 4 IN JANUARY 2021. VOLUME CONTROL DID NOT WORK WITH AFTERSHOKZ HEADPHONES AT FIRST.

I WEAR THE WATCH ON MY RIGHT HAND AND WHEN I PRESS THE VOLUME CONTROL WHEN MY ARM IS POINTING DOWNWARDS, IT WORKS. SO THE VOLUME CONTROL FUNCTION SEEMS TO BE DEPENDENT ON THE PHONE ORIENTATION WITH RESPECT TO THE GROUND. ANOTHER TRIUMPH FOR GRAVITY AND EINSTEIN

    WEIRD

  • I have a Forerunner 645 and F9 earbuds doesn't work. But my JBL headphone works, so it's some compatibility problem. Any help/suggestions? I also tried the previous solutions in this forum and I'm at the latest update possible

I have sent you an email.

  • Hi Kevin, would you mind to post something general, so people having this issue that read this forum, can get some type of answers.

  • What I have found(I think) if the head phones have their own volume control, the Garmin watch can then control it, Not sure if anyone else found this.

  • Cannot agree on this completely but this could be the reason to a great extent. I was facing issue with a pair that wasn't holding volume control feature but when i changed to earphones with volume feature, it kind of started working in a buttery-smooth manner at both the ends.

  • After some mailing, this was the conclusion (based on my F9 earbuds, so this is not the case for JBL Reflect Flow headphones).

    Garmin support:
Unfortunately, because this is a manufacturer that is less common than some of the mainstream brands, this is one model that we do not have in-house to test. Our recommendation would be to switch to one of the mainstream brands (Samsung, Aftershokz, JBL, Bose, Sony, Jabra) for your earbuds.

  • See, this is what the problem is. What if one doesn't want to shell out on bigger brand just for the sake of making it work, this definitely should have a fix in place. In my case, mine started working with a budget friendly one after trying with few other brands and i am happy finally. The reason for not spending a hell lot of is because this is for cycling purpose and who knows as it may be the last day of the pair after a crash or might fell out due to some sudden jerk, it is gone forever, right?? If using it indoors then fine else it is a risk for outdoor enthusiasts as apart from falling and getting it lost, these expensive buds will block all traffic noises as well.

  • My Tactix Delta Solar also could not adjust volume on playing internal music files.....

it is quite a big bugs because there have no volume control in source by watch to any kind of Bluetooth speaker.

Garmin software team still have no fix it in 2 years......

    Come on....
