I can confirm this issue will be resolved with our next software update which we hope to have available very soon. I don't have an exact date but we will push this live as soon as it's available.…

Vivoactive is lcd, venu is amoled
Thank you very much for this information!
But, even if that is true, if I want to have the black background because I like it, it change every time that you starts an activity :(
Yes you are correct. It should be fixed.
But i think garmins priority at the moment is wifi and the heart rate being inaccurate.
Esthetics is an easy fix and not a blocking issue, tuning hardware is priority.
In swimming mode is the same. English/spanish mixed when the activity start
For me the first priority shoud be the battery! It is impossible to have even 5 days.. And the promess was 8 days... the battery life is a joke... even the Venu has more battery life with the amoled screen..
I dont understand how garmin has not already publised another release... the 3.40 is no enough for users..
Stratos 3 are going to beat it very easily...
Both but stratos 3 I think is better to compare to VA4 (similar size)
Same here. The background color is reset to white as soon as I exit the activity settings.
I often walk/run in the dark, and taking a look at my watch that is all white makes it more difficult for me to see my surroundings until my eyes have adjusted again.
