Heart Rate too low

Hello, I'm switching from a Vivoactive HR to the new Vivoctive 4.

After I few days of testing I found that the heart rate y too low. Vivoctive 4 is giving me about 50 bpm while walking and about 88 climbing a 15%-1km mountain with the bike (broadcast mode) which is impossible to me and totally different of what my chest strap says. With my old Vivoctive the HR was okay. Is anybody else having this issue?

Thanks!  Muscle

Yes. It's off by different amounts depending on the activity. Walk seems low and indoor bike is 25 percent high easily. My vivoactive HR was 5 - 10 percent off, but at least it was consistent.

  • I hope Garmin improve their algorithms or I'll be returning my Vivoctive

  • I agree.  I used my vivoactive 4 on my bike ride I frequently do today  It said my average was 73, max 102.  I went back through my data I get from my chest strap and I’m always average 150’s, max 170’s.  I knew it would be off compared to a chest strap, but that’s a huge deficiency.

I have had a few devices now, I have sent them back. Every device tgat has the V2 sensor is having issues with HR. I think it will be fine given. Time. I do think we should be on garmins payroll since we are beta testers for there products.

  • After the QA testing work that I'm doing with this device and my Garmin 530 I also think I should be in payroll or at least have a big discount or a present JoyJoyJoy I'm definitely not recommending to buy a Garmin product before waiting 6~9 month of the release date...

I have come to that conclusion myself. I always want the latest features, even if I dont use them. A free HR strap with a beta watch would be nice.

  • I hope Former Member or someone related with Garmin have more information about if this is a Hardware or Software problem and if Garmin will fix it

  • I did a cardio workout yesterday (trx straps). It seems to be more accurate.  Has anyone else seen an improvement?   I’ll get out on my bike this weekend, which will help to confirm.

  • A little delayed but I road my same 20 mile loop today.  The vivo registered 144 on the low and 170 on the high.  This is a huge difference from the original (70 and 103).  I feel it’s been updated.  It’s a bit off from my chest strap, but that is expected in my opinion.

  • Last update didn't change anything on my side, did you notice any change ANT1?
