Battery Life Issues

Just got a new Vivoactive 4 and was expecting a much better battery life, so far I'm running into a 48hr battery life. Charged my watch fully last night unplugged it before bed and woke up to a watch that had been sitting (did not sleep with it) doing nothing and already drained 20%.

Very disappointing this is exactly one of the reason I switched, I wanted to worry less about charging my watch every day or two. Is this just a total miss for Garmin or did I just get a lemon?

I turned off and on. Switched to Garmin face. Turned off SpO2 sensor, battery still draining constantly, what the heck is going on with this VA4

  • I’ve had my Garmin Vivo Active 4 for 6 days ... and I’ll be taking it back tomorrow... I charged my watch to 100% last night , and when I woke up this morning , it was down to 19%.  Without being touched or used !! So recording a four hour hike was out of the question ...

I charged it to 100% this afternoon at 300pm, and without using any of the features , within five hours it had dropped to 26%...

  • Have you paired a set of Bluetooth headphones? I have found that when i have connected to Apple Airpods, the watch will keep searching afterwards which is a real battery drain. I have to .manually go into Settings, Music, Headphones and turn them off. This works for me, but it shouldn't be like this.

If this isn't your issue, maybe a factory reset is the best place to start.

  • just bought my garmin VA4. And it was going this way all from the start.

dunno is cuz from the update or whathever...

please garmin fix this...I am using version 5.60

  • Thanks for this. I had this issue and didn't even realize it

  • I am also running on a 48hr battery life.

Tryed with no luck to factory reset. Took all the 3rd party watch faces out. the is just one left along the the factory ones.

I am using the screen light on 30%.

Took all the CIQ out too and the problem seems to be not done yet.

My HeatB Sensor is on smart recording.

    Pulse Ox only during sleep.

1 activity during 2 days and the battery is gonne already.

the percentage of hour use won´t be lesse than 1.700% / hr.

  • Same issue. Battery has to be charged every single night. Why does no one from Garmin reply. Pathetic.

  • I wonder what you do with your watch? Maybe an odd watch face? I get 3 to 4 days between charges. With sleep tracking and Pulse Ox while sleep..

  • You should open a support ticket and see it can be resolved or the device replaced.
