Run Until Lap Press (Run mode)

Hello,

Can anyone help me with " Run Until Lap Press " definition/function that we have to manage while working out. By the way I have the Venu watch.

How do we have to use this function ?

Thank you.

Lassana

  • The lap press should be the B button if I understand what you’re asking.

  • Thank you for your answer.  I was wondering what is the purpose and meaning of " Run Until Lap Press ".

    Thank you.

  • I have been trying to figure out the same thing!

Hello! "Run until Lap Press" means to run until you feel finished with that section and then press the lap button to move on to the next thing. For instance, if you select the "Lap Button Press" for a cool down, run until you feel satisfied/finished with the cool down to stop the workout.

  • Hello,

Many thanks for your reply. I am actually following a workout program with Coach Jeff. What I don't understand is that when I have this message Run Until Lap Press " between workout steps, while resting, the stopwatch keeps counting. This affects my performance because I am no longer running but resting before moving on to the next step of the workout.

Any idea how can I change that please ?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately you are not able to edit any of the Garmin Coach workouts. When you mention that it affects your performance do you mean for the overall time? You can look at the actual intervals individually and overall move time in Garmin Connect.

  • It is used for open duration intervals, such as a warmup before an interval set, where you run until you are ready to start the intervals (and then hit the lap button to start the set), or open-duration recovery between sets, where you run until you HR has recovered, or whatever.

  • "This affects my performance because I am no longer running" - this is normally used for active recovery between intervals, so yes, you should keep running at a slow pace, and "your performance" in an intervals sessions only consists of how well you perform your intervals.

  • This, finally, makes sense, thank you.
