Problem connecting Sony Headphones to watch Bluetooth

Hi just purchased new Sony headphones and they won’t connect with watch. Watch does not find headphones to pair despite following instructions ie Add device? Thanks

Which headphone model do you have? Here is Garmin's compatibility list: Bluetooth® Headphone Compatibility for Garmin Watches That Feature Music

The only Sony BT headphones listed are the Sony MDR-XB50BS Extra Bass. Not that others can't work, but those are the ones that Garmin has tested.

Some other things to check

Check the Sony manual to see if you need to press anything on your headphones get them into pairing mode.
Is the system software for your headphones up-to-date? Check the manufacturer's web site for updates.
Are the headphones paired to another device?
Are the headphones fully charged?
Do the headphones have the ability to connect to you watch as a sensor (footpod)? If so, the sound will stop as soon as you start an activity.

i had the same issue while connection garmin venu to sony WH-XB900N.

After searching for a solution on the net for a while, this is how i got that working

1. Initialize the headphone to factory default. you can refer to the following link

helpguide.sony.net/.../TP0002050004.html

2. use the watch manual to connect to the headphone.

i believe your smart watch should be first device to pair with the headphone. Once successfully paired, you can switch the pairing back and forth with smart watch and any other device.

It finally worked after unpairing from my phone turning off the headphones and then holding down the on button for 4 seconds until the headphones stated "pairing". Then when I had the watch scan for new headphones it finally seen them!

Make sure you are trying to add your headphones from the "Phone" settings and not "Music" Settings. I spent 10 days to figure out this... you don't have to :)
