Bug : Touch Lock

I own a X1 and was very pleased until the last software version (15.16).

There is now a very annoying bug :

after a certain number of hours, usually overnight, Touch Lock mode activates automatically (i.e. I have to swipe down from the top of the screen to unlock the
touchscreen). When I want to disable this Touch Lock mode, I can't. In the controls menu with quick access options, I see the Touch Lock mode enabled (in yellow). If I select the "button", it only allows me to enable the Touch Lock mode again, it won't allow me to disable it. I found a workaround : I have to disable the airplane mode, then enable the do not disturb mode and only then can I disable the Touch Lock mode. This is very frustrating. I reseted user data and settings but it didn't change anything.
I checked in the Sleep mode settings, and the Touch Lock is supposed to be disabled.
  • Has anyone run into the same problem ?

The problem is still there with the 15.33 update.

The touch lock mode keeps activating by itself during the night despite being turned off in the Sleep mode settings. And I can't disable it afterwards.

  • jup same since a month or so. anoying af, tryd many thing nothing worked, it always the same after a workout or next day.

  • I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one.

There is clearly something wrong with the handling of the Touch Lock mode.

The only way to disable the Touch Lock mode, once it has self-activated, is :

    • to disable airplane mode
    • then enable do not disturb mode... Confused

Perhaps most users do not disable airplane mode ?

  • Can you try the following instructions to ensure you do not have any additional focus modes or settings enabled that may be triggering the Touch Lock to engage.

Using Activity Touch Options and Activity Lanes on Garmin Watches

  • with or without focus enabled its not working when airplane modes is activated, if you dont have enabled airplane modes it works fine. so its a bug when you have airplane modes on.

  • As I said previously, I checked in the Sleep mode settings, and the Touch Lock is supposed to be disabled. The Touch lock is disabled in every setting I could find.

As  said, the bug is linking to the airplane mode.

Do you think it's normal to disable airplane mode then enable the "do not disturb" mode to disable the Touch Lock (as seen in the video above) ? And if I re-enable airplane mode and disable the "do not disturb" mode just after that, it engages the Touch Lock again automatically...

  • yo, i have updated it with the newest beta update, i think its fixed now. did not have it since.

  • Thanks, it worked !

Thank you so much for coming back to give the solution Thumbsup

    Happy New Year !
