Hi Garmin team,
After a recent software update, I noticed a change to the Gimme +1 button behavior in Golf Mode on the Venu X1. Previously, we could tap the Gimme +1 button multiple times after finishing a hole to quickly add extra strokes when adjusting the score manually.
Now, the Gimme +1 button only allows a single press per hole, adding exactly one stroke. While this may seem like a small change, it’s actually a big loss in usability for golfers who don’t use CT (club tracking) sensors.
Without CT sensors, the watch often assumes I made fewer strokes than I did. for example, recording a birdie when it was actually a bogey. Before the update, I could simply tap Gimme +1 two times to correct the score. Now, I have to go through extra steps or edit the hole manually afterward, which is not as convenient as before.
Why restoring multi-tap Gimme +1 makes sense:
-
It keeps the feature useful for golfers who enter scores manually.
 -
It allows faster, on-the-spot correction without digging into menus.
 -
It doesn’t affect users who prefer the single-press behavior.

Could Garmin consider restoring the previous functionality where the Gimme +1 button could be pressed multiple times to add additional strokes before confirming the hole score?
It was one of those subtle but great quality-of-life features that made Golf Mode on the Venu X1 especially intuitive.
Thanks for considering this change, many of us manual scorers would really appreciate having that flexibility back!
