Less backlight = more battery life ?

Hi there,
I'm interested in the new Venu X1.
I read that by lowering the backlight level, the 970 (which, like the X1, has a brighter screen than previous Garmins) gain a substantially better battery life.
Is this also the case for the X1? I won't be activating AOD.

The Battery Life Assumptions indicate what we have actually tested. Give that they don't reflect a test at that setting, the best I can tell you is that yes, it should improve battery life.

The simple answer is yes, you will have better battery life at lower backlight settings.

The Venu X1 product page includes a spec sheet with different expectations for battery life based on situation.

Additionally, while not intended to cover the Venu X1, the article Backlight Options for Garmin Outdoor Watches provides good definitions for Backlight options (Keys and Alerts do not apply) - The steps provided aren't relevant for the Venu X1, but the definitions are.

Yes, I saw that, "Smartwatch mode: Up to 8 days"

But it's with the default brightness setting, not the lowest one (?)

OK, but there's no assumption of the battery life with low brightness setting (which is already more than enough in real life).
