Automatic Activity Start

I have a new Venu X1 and like it very much.

On my old Venu 2S I could set it to start recording and activity (like my daily dog walks) after 10 minutes. I can't figure out how to do this on the X1. I feel like I've reviewed the pertinent parts of the online manual with no luck?

What am I missing?

According to the Venu X1 manual, this should should indeed be supported:

The manual states:

The Move IQ feature can automatically start a timed activity for walking and running using time thresholds you set in the Garmin Connect app or the watch activity settings. These activities are added to your activities list.

However, I can't find the corresponding time thresholds in the activity settings and can't get it to work either.

Accessing Settings

From the watch face, press the button.
Select Settings.
Navigate to Health & Wellness.

Activating Move IQ

Find the Move IQ option in the Health & Wellness settings.
Enable the Move IQ feature.

Understanding Move IQ

Move IQ automatically detects familiar exercise patterns, such as walking or running.
Detected events are displayed in your timeline but do not appear in your activities list or newsfeed.
For more accurate tracking, you can manually start a timed activity using the watch or the Garmin Connect app.

Move IQ is not what the OP is looking for. Up until the Venu 3, Venu watches had the option to automatically start a walking activity after five minutes and a running activity after one minute of detecting the activity. This feature was exclusive to Venu and Vivo devices. The Venu X1 is the first Venu series watch to lack this option.

The Venu X1 manual clearly states that the Move IQ function in the Venu X1 can automatically start a timed activity after a certain time threshold:

However, this functionality appears broken.

You are right; the Auto Activity Start feature is an additional function of Movie IQ. I checked my Venu 3 app and the option is right under Move IQ.

Either they have failed to implement it in the firmware, or the manual is incorrect..

Hello!

Thank you for calling this out. Auto Activity start was removed from most profiles and is not available on the walk or run profiles (The manual is currently incorrect and I have submitted a request for an update). At this time Auto Start is only available in the Motocross and BMX profiles and has to be enabled in those specific activity profiles.

It N is my fervent hope and request than Garmin return this feature to the walk, run, and cycle activities. Does anyone else feel the same?
