Activity saving on battery death.

I will be using a venuSQ for some wildlife research. Will the activity data be saved when the battery dies? The plan is to put it on a collar and attach it to an animal but we won't be able to retrieve it before the battery dies.

For the record, it will save. I ran my battery dead during an activity to test it and at about 2% it gave a message something to the effect of "power critically low saving data".

I'm not sure about the Venu SQ specifically, but other garmin watches do save activity just before turning off due to battery depletion.
